Generator ‘Non Rye’ Horse Pasture Seed Mix
The Mix:

Cultivar Description

Use for:

Bareno Brome Grass
A quick to establish high quality, palatable with excellent root production  brome grass. A horse specific pasture seed blend. Contains no ryegrass or clovers. The grasses used have no harmful endophyte within them.
Suitable as a new pasture or to renovate existing poor performing pastures.

(We recommend the use of Poncho Seed Treatment for seedling Insect protection)

Athos Cocksfoot When compared to older cultivars Athos has a finer leaves and is less clumpy.
Safin Cocksfoot High dry matter yield, increased palatability and is less invasive
Massey Basyn
Yorkshire Fog
Containing high levels of condensed tannins which improves animal health
Kahu Timothy High summer feed value
NZ Browntop A slow growing and dense cultivar.

Generator General Purpose Horse Pasture Mix

Use for:

Tower Tall Fescue
Tall Fescue is a perennial grass more tolerant of hot summer, poorly drained soils than perennial ryegrass. This seed mix is has been created for as a Horse pasture mix but it also has been created to include
other stock types that could include both Sheep and Cattle.

(We recommend the use of Poncho Seed Treatment for seedling Insect protection)

AR1 Expo Perennial Ryegrass Expo perennial ryegrass is a new release densely tillered, late flowering diploid ryegrass suitable for all farm systems.
Kano Italian Ryegrass Excellent dry matter production, very strong winter growth and Nil Endophyte.
Athos Cocksfoot High dry matter yield, increased palatability and is less invasive
Kahu Timothy High summer feed value

Deep tap like rooting system with excellent stock health attributes and summer performance.
Recommended cultivars: Punter, Puna 2, Choice or Chico

Plantain

A fibrous broadleaf mineral pasture herb.
Recommended cultivars:
Boston or Tonic

500 grams to 1 kg per hectare

White Clover

A base legume for most pastures in New Zealand. Persistent and leafy cultivar that fixes atmospheric nitrogen.
Recommended cultivars:
Tribute, Demand, Aberlasting

2 to 4 kgs per hectare

Red Clover

A tap rooted clover with very high feed value, with excellent summer production.
Recommended cultivars:
Tuscan, Relish, Pinot or Hamua

2 to 5 kgs per hectare

Kentucky Blue Grass

Added to our both our Horse mixes for high fiber.
